1905 Edwardian Cape for Spring

Sewing patterns available here

Hello!
I’m very happy to share another pattern for this spring: this one is for a cape which was very time consuming to make but the final result it’s absolutely wonderful!
As always patterns are available in S – 5XL sizes along with the tutorial (see my shop).

The cape was quite difficult to make, since I had to figure out the pattern by following a fashion plate. However the most challenging part was making the actual embroidery, which took a while since I applied it completely by hand.
The fabric I choose are:

  1. Felted Wool: this type of wool doesn’t fray and it’s perfect for capes and other garments.
  2. Taffettà for the embroidery an buttons
  3. Lining: I used a plain cotton, even tho I suggest to you a silk one.

The cape also has tons of covered buttons and a nice collar which stands on its own.

Hope you liked this post and see you in the next one!
