Hello everyone, today a post about my sewing patterns and a change that I had to make to “open” my sewing patterns to the most of you.

I had to make a change in the measurements chart since I received a lot of requests (after the publish of the 1903 Mourning Bodice) that I could’n ignore. Many of you asked me to make more measures, I also wrote on my IG stories why I couldn’t afford them. But then I took a break to study and to improve my skills, while the requests kept growing (with more criticism).

I decided to change the way I work and the way I grade my patterns in order to not just have 3 more sizes, but also being able to print the patterns in paper sheets in the next future (another thing you asked me a lot).

Still you can select your size directly on the pdf bar, so you won’t see changes in that (nor the lines will be divided per different sizes), but the big change was in some measures that I had to decrease around the bust area and the front/back length in order to have a cohesive measurements charts for the biggest sizes as well.

Below here you can see the new measurements.

What you won’t find in my patterns anymore:

1. Where to place the hooks and eyes (usually on the Center Front) for each size. This was too messy and, with 8 sizes in total, I can’t make it anymore.
2. Skirt in different heights. I’m adopting a one height only. This speed up the process of grading for me and it’s more “realistic” to you, since a bigger size doesn’t always mean that the person is taller.
3. Written instructions all around the patterns: all the necessary is in a box, usually in the center of the pattern.

I’m going to update the patterns in my shop following those measurements. Please do not ask me when this or that pattern will be ready ‘cos I don’t know. For sure the new patterns will follow the measurements above.

Not your size?

I’m going to make a custom listing for the ones who absolutely need a pattern in their size. I won’t make bigger sizes, so please do not ask me to make a 6XL and so on. Nor I won’t make smaller sizes than the S. It’ll be a listing for those who need an alteration and they can’t make it by themselves (e.g. larger bust, smaller waist, etc.). There will be just few slots available per month so please, do not ask me to open more slots.

Please, do not ask me to make more measures. I won’t.
I don’t have the time nor the software to make a tons of sizes within two clicks.
Please, do not ask me to change the name of the sizes because I won’t. I’m Italian, and I follow my Italian/French standards. I hope you’ll understand.
