Hello everyone and welcome back!
As you may have read from the matching bodice I did, this was a very fast project which was born more than one year ago, for a short film that never see the light.
This skirt was made to be extremely long and kind of creepy, since the short film was about a ghost.
For this reason I was heavily inspired by mourning dresses from Edwardian Eras. I wanted a very long train and some ruffles to support the heaviness.

The main fabric is a thin wool whereas the underskirt is a very dark purple taffeta, stiff enough to support the outer train. I also made a dust lifter which ended up too lightweight and it constantly goes under the train of the outer skirt, so it’s useless. I should remake it with something sturdier.
The skirt, however, it’s very heavy and I always need some help to make the train looking good while I stand. Hopefully the train moves quite well when I walk so there’s no need of constantly adjusting it.

Just wanna share another photo of the complete dress with the matching bodice.

I really hope you like it. In my shop you can find the sewing patterns (S-XXL sizes) and the attached direction file with step-by-step tutorial.
