Sewing patterns are available HERE
Hello everyone and welcome to another post!
I’m going to share an Edwardian Bodice that goes with the 1905 Skirt I made back in July 2022.
As you can see the color choice was the same of the 1905 skirt, but as I wrote in the previous post, these garments can be made separately as you’ll find in my shop two different listings, just in case you’d like to make the bodice or the skirt only.

This bodice was the hardest thing I’ve done so far. The construction was very challenging and I had to make some researches before I could understand the engineering behind it.
Since I wasn’t able to find existing pieces online, I had to “copy” some part of the construction from another dress listened in the second volume of “Patterns of Fashion”.

The bodice has an inner bodice, which opens on the C:F with tons of hooks and eyes. Then I made an inner shirt which has a panel in silk where I sewn some ruffles on to make that “pigeon breast”. I also added some tucks and a gathered panel on the front. The jacket instead is very simple and it opens on the front with three mother of pearls button.
Everything’s made in cotton or silk and the dress is perfect for hot italian summers!

I really hope you like it and I wish all the best for this project!
