Sewing patterns are available HERE
Hello and welcome to another post!
This time I’m gonna share my recent bustle pad, which is an important piece of underwear used to achieve a perfect butt!
It’s a cushion with grommets, tufting and a colorful cotton, ‘cos I learnt that Victorian underwear were joyful and not as boring as I thought.

The construction was quite simple since it’s a simple semicircle that I graded for S-XXL size. I also found an interesting table of proportions in order to have a correct shape and a right balance between waist-hips and bust.

I’m very happy with the result and the cottons I used.
I also used a padding which is made of fabric scraps. I’m very glad I did it since I have so many small leftovers that I cried each time I threw them away! I can say that this type of padding is surely historical accurate but it’s more difficult to work with and it’s time consuming to make it. So in case I’d be in rush I surely will use the modern one.

Here you can see a comparison between the bustle pad on (left pic) and without it (right pic). Sadly I wasn’t able to take the same angle during the photoshoot but I hope you can see the difference as well!
I made S-XXL sewing patterns and if you’re interested you can find them here.
Hope you like it!
